3. The engine

3.1. Petrol engines
THE GENERAL DATA

This section describes repair operations which can be executed on the engine established in the car. If repair of already removed engine is made, dismounting operations can be ignored.

ENGINE XU DESCRIPTION

The engine with four cylinders, established cross-section in a forward part of the car. Coupling and a transmission are located on the left side of the engine.

Коленвал leans against five main bearings. Persistent half rings are established on the second radical bearing.

In the bottom heads of a rod loose leaves are established. Pistons fasten to rods piston fingers. On the engine of 2.0 litres piston fingers are established on sliding landing in rods and fixed by lock rings. On all other models – motionless landing in a rod. Pistons consist of an aluminium alloy and have three piston rings, two sealing and one маслосъемное.

On aluminium blocks of cylinders of the engine the block of cylinders has type “the damp loose leaf”. Replaceable sleeves of cylinders are established from above the block of cylinders, and consolidation is made in the sleeve basis by a sealing ring of round section.

On engines with the pig-iron block of cylinders the engine has usual type “the dry loose leaf”. Cylinders are executed directly in a material of the block of cylinders and can be chiseled only at engine repair.

On all models the cam-shaft puts in action a gear belt of a drive and operates восемью valves (model 1.6 of litres) or sixteen valves (models 1.8 and 2.0 litres) through the pushers located under cams of a camshaft. On models 1.6 of litres клапанные backlashes are regulated by linings which are established between pushers and the top end face of a core of the valve; on all other models клапанные backlashes self-regulated at the expense of hydraulic pushers. The cam-shaft is located in covers of bearings which fasten bolts to the top part of a head of the block of cylinders. Closing of valves is made by springs which press a valve plate to a saddle. Saddles and directing the valve can be replaced.

The pump of system of cooling puts in action a gear belt of a drive and is located on the right side of the block of cylinders.

Engine greasing is made under the pressure created by the oil pump which is resulted (through a chain and an asterisk) from the right end коленвала. Oil is sucked in through the mesh filter located in маслоприемнике, and then arrives through outwardly established filter in channels of the block of cylinders. Therefrom oil arrives to коленвалу (radical bearings) and to a cam-shaft. Bearings of the bottom head of a rod are supplied with oil through internal drillings in коленвале; to bearings of a cam-shaft oil also moves under pressure. Cams of a cam-shaft and valves are greased with the sprayed oil, also as well as all other mobile details of the engine.

The oil radiator is established on some models to maintain temperature some constant oil under the big operational loadings. The oil radiator установливается behind the oil filter also is cooled by a cooling liquid from system of cooling of the engine.

Engines are identified not only their working volume, but also and an engine code. The engine code consists of three letters (for example: BFZ). The code is beaten out on a plate attached to a forward left-hand side of the block of cylinders, or beaten out directly on the forward party of the block of cylinders, to the left of the oil filter.
