4. Systems of cooling, heating

The system of cooling of the closed tight type includes the water pump which is resulted by a gear belt, an aluminium radiator, the electric fan of a radiator, the thermostat, a heater, hoses and switches.

The system functions as follows. The cold cooling liquid from the bottom part of a radiator arrives on a hose to the water pump and is pumped over through the main channels of the block of cylinders of the engine, and also through an oil radiator (where is available). After cooling of cylinders of the engine, the chamber of combustion and saddles of the valves, the cooling liquid moves to the thermostat which in time initial stage is closed. The cooling liquid also passes through a heater and comes back through the block of cylinders to the water pump.

On the cold engine the cooling liquid circulates only through the block of cylinders, a head of the block of cylinders and a heater. At achievement by a cooling liquid of certain temperature the thermostat starts to open and the cooling liquid arrives through the top hose to a radiator. As the cooling liquid starts to circulate, there is its cooling by air stream at car movement. If necessary air stream increases at work of the electric fan (ов). After achievement of the basis of a radiator the cooling liquid was cooled, and the cycle will repeat.

When the engine is heated-up to the normal working temperature, the cooling liquid extends and superseded in a broad tank. At cooling of the engine cooling system подпитывается from a broad tank.

On cars with an automatic transmission the part of a cooling liquid arrives from the radiator basis through a refrigerator established on a transmission. On the cars having an oil radiator, the cooling liquid also passes through it.

The electric fan of a radiator copes a temperature-sensitive element which at excess of certain temperature of a cooling liquid includes the fan.

The prevention

At opening of a cover of a broad tank on the hot engine it is necessary to be careful, since leaving hot steams and a cooling liquid can lead to strong burns. Do not suppose hit of a cooling liquid on clothes and a paint and varnish covering of a body. Otherwise wash out a surface a plentiful quantity of water.

At depressurization of system of cooling at the hot engine place a fabric on a cover of a jellied mouth on a broad tank, slowly unscrew a cover to dump pressure. When all pressure in cooling system will be dumped, uncover a jellied mouth.
