THE GENERAL DATA

The prevention

On models with the petrol engine with the conditioner and on models with the diesel engine temperature gauge "Bitron" operates the index of temperature of a cooling liquid.


Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Temperature gauge "Bitron" (it is specified by an arrow) is screwed in on the left side of a head of the block of cylinders. The gauge can be identified on dark blue colour of an electric socket. On models 1.8 and 2.0 litres with 16th valves gauges are screwed in in a thermostat casing.
2. The index of temperature of a cooling liquid запитывается constant pressure from the panel of devices (through the lock of ignition and the fuse). Gauge "Bitron" is established in a chain of grounding of the index of temperature. The gauge contains термистр – the electronic component which electric resistance decreases under the certain law at increase in its temperature. When the cooling liquid cold, big and as a result the electric current through the temperature index is insignificant also an arrow of the index specifies resistance of the gauge in a dark blue (cold) site of a scale. At rise in temperature of a cooling liquid and reduction of resistance of the gauge, i.e. increase in an electric current, the marksman of the index moves to the top part of a scale. If the gauge is faulty, it is necessary to replace it.
3. 4. If the temperature index shows temperature excess, and the bulb does not light up, it is necessary to check up pressure giving on it and working capacity of the gauge. Probably malfunction is in a printed-circuit board conductor. Malfunction can be defined as follows.
5. If the arrow of the index of temperature is in a cold zone of a scale at the hot engine, remove a wire from the gauge and attach it to a head of the block of cylinders. If the arrow of the index deviates at ignition inclusion, the gauge means is faulty and is subject to replacement. If the arrow does not deviate, remove the instrument panel and check up integrity of a wire between the gauge and the temperature index. If the wire whole, and defect is present, means, the index of temperature with which it is necessary to replace is faulty.
6. If the arrow of the index of temperature specifies in a hot site of a scale at the cold engine, remove a wire from the gauge. If the arrow of the index comes back in a cold part of a scale at the included ignition, the gauge means is faulty and is subject to replacement. If the arrow of the index still remains on a place, check up an electric chain as it is described earlier.
7. Work of an emergency lamp of excess of temperature is similarly checked also.

Removal

Removal procedure is similar to removal of a temperature-sensitive element of inclusion of the fan of a radiator.
