6.1.1. The accumulator
THE GENERAL DATA

In the accumulator it is necessary to make check of density of electrolit each 3 months to define loading ability of the accumulator.

Check is made плотномером. At definition of density of electrolit it is necessary to consider accumulator temperature. At electrolit temperature more low 15 With on everyone 10 less than this temperature from the measured density subtract value 0,007. For everyone 10 from above 15 add 0,007.

Electrolit density measure in everyone bank. The difference in density 0,04 or more between two any banks specifies in loss of electrolit or сульфатацию plates.

If the electrolit density between two any banks differs more than on 0,04, the accumulator is subject to replacement. If below demanded, but identical in all banks, the accumulator it is necessary to charge density of electrolit.

In case of use of the unattended accumulator the accumulator condition can be checked up only the voltmeter.

In accumulators with the built in indicator of degree заряженности the accumulator condition is defined on colour of the indicator. Green colour of the indicator corresponds to full gymnastics of the accumulator. Black colour of the indicator specifies in necessity of gymnastics of the accumulator. Dark blue colour of the indicator testifies to low level of electrolit in the accumulator.

Gymnastics

The accumulator gymnastics should be made, when the accumulator is removed from the car.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Accumulator gymnastics make зарядным a current from 3,5 to 4 amperes until the electrolit density in the accumulator will not raise within 4 hours.
2. Use of the big currents for fast gymnastics of the accumulator is not recommended, since in this case can occur коробление plates because of an overheat.
3. During gymnastics of the accumulator the electrolit temperature should not exceed 37,8 With.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The accumulator is located on a forward left-hand side of a compartment of the engine. Uncover the storage battery, ослабьте the negative plug of the accumulator and remove it.
2. Disconnect the positive plug and remove it.
3. Unscrew two bolts and remove a clip of fastening of the accumulator.
4. Take the accumulator from a motor compartment.
5. To remove a box for the accumulator, remove the case of the air filter.
6. On models with the conditioner unscrew the screw of fastening of a belt влагоотделителя to a forward part of a box of the accumulator (it is specified by an arrow).
7. Unscrew internal bolts (are specified by arrows) fastenings of a box for the accumulator to the metal basis.
8. Unscrew also one external bolt (it is specified by an arrow) fastenings to a suspension bracket of installation of the air filter.
9. Move aside all wires and hoses and take a box for the accumulator from a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
2. After connection of plugs to the accumulator grease with their technical vaseline.
3. After accumulator connection include ignition for 10 seconds before engine start. It will allow electronic systems and to management blocks to enter into operating conditions.
