12.2. Care of a body

THE GENERAL DATA

Check of a condition of a body should be made regularly. Otherwise corrosion of separate sites of a body can lead to its strong damage and, further, to expensive repair. Also it is important to pay attention to parts of the car inaccessible to an external sight, for example, to the bottom, arches of wheels and the bottom part of a motor compartment, and also to the parts of a body hidden under an upholstery. A high light at care of a body is its sink. Before a car sink soak insects and remove from a body surface. Plentifully use water. Use a soft sponge or a soft brush. It is impossible to wash a varnish covering with a stream with a strong pressure. Pour over the car from a hose and a dirt смойте from top to down. Often rinse a sponge. Wipe the car pure rags. Apply only good degreasing washing substances. For the purpose of protection in water for a sink add washing preservatives. After a sink of the car because of humidity efficiency of action of brakes decreases. It is recommended to dry brake disks short-term pressing a brake pedal in a start of motion.

Preservation

Purely washed up and dried up varnish covering is necessary for processing every 3 month preserving means to protect a surface of the car from atmospheric influences by creation беспористого a water-repellent wax layer.
The flowed out fuel, oil or greasing, and also brake liquid at once to remove, colour of a varnish covering differently will change.

Surface processing is necessary for repeating, if water does not gather in drops, and spreads on a surface. Regular processing by preserving means promotes long preservation of shine of a varnish covering.

There is also other possibility of protection of varnish coverings – by means of washing preservatives. However washing preservatives provide reliable protection of varnish coverings only in the event that are used at each sink of the car and is not more rare, than in 2–3 weeks.

After use washing (пенообразующих) means additional processing of a surface by preservatives especially is recommended.

Polishing

Polishing of a varnish surface is necessary only in the event that it has faded owing to insufficient leaving, influence of the dust, harmful gases, weather conditions, and preserving means cannot restore its shine.

It is not necessary to apply rough polishing pastes and chemically active polishing means, despite initial good results.

Before polishing the car is necessary for washing up and carefully to dry up. Further to adhere to the instruction on use of polishing means.

Polishing to make small sites in order to avoid premature drying of polish. After surface processing by some polishing means it is necessary to make additional preservation. It is forbidden to polish on the open sun. Matte varnish surfaces cannot be processed preserving and polishing means.

Removal of stains of pitch

Removal of building solutions

Splashes of building materials are washed off by slightly warm solution of neutral washing-up liquids. Strongly not to rub, differently it is possible to scratch a varnish covering. Then carefully to rinse with pure water.

Care of details from artificial materials

Plastic details, sitting from an imitation leather, a headlight, and also the details painted in matte black colour, it is possible to wash with water with addition of special washing-up liquids. It is not recommended to wet. Plastic details can be processed if necessary special cleaners. Not to use at all nitrosolvent or gasoline.

Sink of glasses

Glasses to wipe a pure soft rag with internal and lateral aspect. At strong pollution it is possible to use spirit or liquid ammonia and warm water, and also special means for clearing of glasses. At a sink of a windscreen screen wipers to lift upwards.

The prevention

Care of rubber consolidations

Condensing or sliding surfaces should be strewed periodically talc or to spray silicone an aerosol. It will keep their elasticity and will exclude a scratch at closing of doors. To eliminate unpleasant sounds it is possible, having wiped adjoining surfaces liquid soap.

Disks of wheels from easy metals demand leaving, especially in a cold season. For this purpose it is possible to use special means for clearing of disks. Not to apply active, кислотосодержащие, сильнощелочные and rough cleaners or water with temperature from above + 60 With.

It is necessary to wash seat belts with not strong alkaline solution, without removing them. Not to subject to their dry cleaning which can cause destruction of fibres. Belts with automatic winding to braid in the dried up condition, if necessary to use special an aerosol for the best sliding. It is not recommended to dry belts at temperature from above 80 With and on the open sun.
