Technical characteristics

Protection against theft: the coded device with 4-place code.

Remote control from a steering column: the lever with the controls, established on a steering column to the right of a steering wheel.

Radio receiver: target capacity: 4х12 Vt (4х3,5 Vt at factor of nonlinear distortions to 1 %). System of radio data RDS.

Frequency ranges of a radio receiver:

 – FM: 87,5–108 MHz;
 – MW: 531–1629 кГц;
 – LW: 144–288 кГц.

The coded device against theft

The device is executed on the basis of the microprocessor. After switching-off of an autoradio tape recorder from the car electric system (accumulator removal, dismantle of a radio tape recorder or its initial installation) is necessary to enter a safety code. The radio tape recorder can be included only after input of a correct code.

Code input

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Include a radio tape recorder button ON. Press the button of 1 preliminary adjustment. On the display will appear 0---. Press some times buttons 17 or 19 that on the display there was a first figure of a code (7---).
2. For acknowledgement of input of the first figure and transition to input of the second figure of a code press the button 1. On the display will appear 70---. Press some times buttons 17 or 19 that on the display there was a second figure of a code (73-).
3. Do these operations for input of a correct code and in end press the button 1 for acknowledgement of input of the fourth figure of a code. If the entered code true the short signal of a high-pitch tone will be heard. The radio tape recorder is ready to work.

Case of input of an incorrect code

If at code input the error has been admitted, the short signal of low tone will be distributed. On the display there will be a message “ERR CODE”. Repetition of attempt of input of a code probably only after a pause 1 minute. Duration of the period of expectation increases twice after one more unsuccessful attempt. This period is limited approximately 32 minutes. Radio tape recorder deenergizing does not influence duration of an obligatory pause. Readout of time of a pause will be started over again at radio tape recorder inclusion. After the pause termination on the display there will be a message “CODE”. Now it is possible to enter a code.

The indicator 7 red colours blinks at the included ignition, specifying in inclusion of the accident protection device against theft. The indicator dies away at ignition or radio tape recorder inclusion.

After a detachment or repeated connection of the accumulator on the radio tape recorder display the message “CODE” is deduced. Enter a code.

Audiosystem

Inclusion and deenergizing is made by button ON. If ignition is switched off, the radio tape recorder will automatically be disconnected in 1 hour.

Radio receiver

Buttons 1–6 (cм. Fig. the Forward panel and controls). Short pressing: inclusion of the fixed adjustment for preliminary chosen radio station. Long pressing: storing of current adjustment in a manual mode.
16. Short pressing: switching of ranges FM1/FM2/AST/MW/LW. Long pressing: inclusion of function of automatic storing of stations in range FM.
17. The search button (automatic or manual) radio stations in the bottom part of a range.

Features of reception of radio signals


The radio receiver can accept signals of system of radio data RDS. If the signal of the chosen radio station in range FM satisfies to standard RDS, the receiver is automatically adjusted on that frequency which provides the best quality of reception.

Radio station choice (automatic search)

Press the button 17 or 19 (cм. Fig. the Forward panel and controls) to start automatic search and adjustment for radio station. By search passes scanning of the chosen range which is reflected in the display. After adjustment for the nearest on frequency of a signal radio station on the display frequency of an announcement of this station is fixed. If the mode THAT is included, automatic search is limited only RDS to stations which transfer road messages. The mode THAT is one of the functions provided with system RDS.

Automatic search can be included also by means of the remote control lever on a steering column.

By search of radio stations manually press and keep buttons 17 or 19.
The prevention

If after scanning of all range it is not found any broadcasting radio station, the radio receiver passes in a mode of search of remote stations with weaker signal.


Storing of options for radio stations

By means of six buttons 1–6 it is possible to adjust preliminary the receiver on 30 stations: 6 stations in поддиапазоне FM1, 6 stations in поддиапазоне FM2, 6 stations in range AST, 6 stations in range MW, 6 stations in range LW. Frequencies of six stations in range AST are brought in memory automatically. Storing of the fixed options for the chosen radio stations working in other ranges, are made manually.

Manual storing of adjustment for the chosen station

Choose a desirable range (except AST). Adjust the receiver on any station. Press one of six buttons 1–6 and keep it not less than 2 seconds. Wait a short sound signal which confirms storing of current adjustment of the receiver. The new fixed adjustment brought in memory replaces the previous radio station corresponding to the given button of preliminary adjustment in the given range in memory.

Automatic storing of radio stations in range FM

Function AST provides automatic search and storing of adjustment of the receiver on 6 most powerful stations working in range FM. This function can be used only in range FM. At attempt to include function AST in range MW or LW you will hear a short signal of low tone and on the display there will be a message “NO AST”. Press button AST 16 and keep it not less than 2 seconds. Thus you will hear a short signal of low tone. On the display there will be a message “FM AST”. The receiver will automatically bring in memory of frequency of six most powerful radio stations in a range of preliminary adjustment. After storing of adjustment for 6 stations the receiver will give out a short sound signal and will be adjusted on the frequency corresponding to the button of 1 choice of preliminary adjustment. At repeated inclusion of function AST new frequencies of six most powerful radio stations replace the old frequencies stored in memory. If the receiver cannot find in range FM of 6 working stations, in the memories which have remained a free cell the code “0000 AST” (which it is deduced on the display by pressing of corresponding buttons of a choice of preliminary adjustment) is brought. At inclusion of function AST when the receiver works in a mode THAT, the storing priority is given to those stations which can transfer road messages.

Storing of radio stations at switched off function AF

If storing of the stations working in range FM in the standard of system RDS, was made at switched off function AF inclusion of preliminary adjustment of the receiver does not lead to automatic inclusion of function AF (function AF provides a choice of one of frequencies of an announcement of station on which signal reception differs the best quality).

System of radio given RDS

The receiver decodes the information transferred simultaneously with core FM by a radio signal, and uses it for optimisation of quality of reception and a conclusion to the display of the name of the chosen station.

The basic functions of system RDS

Optimisation of reception of a radio signal (function AF). If the radio station conducts a simultaneous announcement on several frequencies the receiver automatically chooses that frequency which provides the best conditions of reception.

The radio station name. If the station broadcasts in standard RDS, on the display of a radio tape recorder instead of frequency of a signal and a range the name of accepted station is deduced.

Reception of road messages (a mode THAT). System RDS allows to accept the operative information on road conditions, even when the player of audiocassettes is included. A mode THAT has a priority in front of the cartridge. System RDS provides also reception of messages on road conditions which are transferred by other radio stations entering into network EON.

Optimisation of reception of a radio signal

Included function AF becomes active at deterioration of reception of a radio signal. Function AF becomes more active automatically at change of adjustment of the receiver (frequency or a range). An exception is the case of adjustment for preliminary chosen station if adjustment storing has been made at switched off function AF.

The indicator of function AF works as follows:

 – The indicator burns constantly if some transmitters of radio station work;
 – The indicator blinks if:

  • the radio station broadcasts not in standard RDS. The indicator automatically ceases to blink after 2 minutes after the beginning of reception of a signal of this station;
  • the radio station broadcasts in standard RDS, but only on one frequency;
  • the car is on border of a zone of confident reception of a signal of the transmitter of radio station (or the aerial is in a radio shade zone). Thus last frequency of adjustment of the receiver remains without change.

Search of frequency of a radio signal on border of a zone of confident reception

If the car left or is on border of a zone of confident reception of a radio signal of the transmitter, the receiver prospects other frequency of the same radio station. Search can proceed some seconds. During search of other frequency of an announcement of radio station on the radio tape recorder display the message “SEEK + [the station name]” is deduced. If other frequency providing better reception, it is not found, former adjustment of the receiver remains. At change of frequency of adjustment of the receiver the short break of sounding can be observed. In the course of search of new frequency of station indicator AF continues to blink.

Deenergizing of function AF

Press button TA/AF 21 and keep it not less than two seconds to include function AF. Thus indicator AF will go out, and search of the frequency providing better quality of reception to stop. Irrespective of change of quality of reception of a radio signal receiver adjustment remains on that frequency which was at the moment of deenergizing of function AF.

The road information (a mode THAT)

At inclusion of a mode THAT the priority is given to messages on road conditions which are transferred by stations RDS. During the similar message listening of current transfer or cartridge reproduction automatically stop. During transfer of the road information the cartridge becomes on a pause, on the display alternating messages “TRAFFIC” and “[the radio station name]” stand out, all buttons of management are disconnected by the receiver, possibility of adjustment of a sound remains. After end of the road message loudness automatically comes back to initial level. The cartridge simultaneously joins.

Some features of work of the receiver in a mode THAT

At the included mode THAT automatic search is spent only among the stations, capable to transfer the message on road conditions. Similarly at automatic storing (function AST) stations with the most powerful signals the priority is given to those from them which work in standard RDS and are capable to transfer messages on road conditions.

Inclusion of a mode THAT

Include the receiver in range FM. Press short button TA/AF 21. On the display the indicator THAT will light up. Receiver work in a mode THAT is possible only at adjustment for the station, capable to transfer road messages. A sign of that the receiver is adjusted on such station, included indicator TR on the display is. If the receiver is adjusted on station which cannot transfer road messages, the warning sound signal will be distributed.

Interruption of the message on road conditions

For message interruption shortly press button TA/AF 21. Thus the mode THAT remains included and the indicator THAT continues to burn on the display. Also the message interrupts automatically if the signal becomes too weak.

Deenergizing of a mode THAT

In an interval between messages shortly press the button THAT / AF 21. The indicator THAT will go out.

The road information (mode EON)

Mode EON of system RDS expands possibilities of the receiver working in a mode THOSE. If the receiver is adjusted on any station, not capable to hand over the road information, mode EON allows to watch other stations which can hand over this information automatically. Then by transfer of the similar message station listening on which the receiver is adjusted, will be temporarily interrupted for reception of the road information. At adjustment of the receiver for any station entering into network EON, on the display indicator "EON" lights up. Mode EON can be used only at the included mode THAT. During listening of the message transferred by station entering into network EON, on the display the name of this station stands out.
