Corners of installation of wheels appreciably influence stability of the car, deterioration of tyres and the fuel expense. Distinguish following corners of installation of wheels.

DISORDER

Disorder is an inclination of a wheel in a vertical plane concerning an average line of the car. It can be positive if wheels are inclined outside, or negative if wheels are inclined inside. The disorder corner, basically, influences uniformity of deterioration of tyres of forward wheels. If disorder of one wheel positive, and another negative the car will withdraw aside at movement on a straight line.

CONVERGENCE

Convergence – lateral distance between wheels. The positive convergence means that wheels are in front located is more close to each other, than behind, at measurement at height of an average point of a wheel. The negative convergence means that wheels in front are on большем distance from each other, than behind.

CROSS-SECTION INCLINATION OF THE AXIS OF TURN

The cross-section inclination of an axis of turn of a wheel is a corner between an axis of an inclination of a rotary fist and a vertical spent through a point of fastening of a wheel, looking in a longitudinal direction of the car.

At the expense of corners of disorder and a cross-section inclination of an axis of turn of a point of a contact of wheels with road settle down more close to an axis of a rotary fist. It supports so-called “a shoulder обкатки”. The it is less “a shoulder обкатки”, the driving is easier. Also blows from roughness of a covering are less transferred to a steering.

CORNER OF THE LONGITUDINAL INCLINATION OF THE AXIS OF TURN

The corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn – an axis concerning which there is a wheel turn, takes places in space so that its bottom part is inclined forward. Such corner of a longitudinal inclination is called as positive. At positive value of a corner self-return of a wheel to average position after turn improves.

THAT is necessary to make check and adjustment of corners of installation of wheels at station, in connection with complexity of the used equipment.

Conditions of check of corners of installation of wheels:

 – Pressure in tyres should correspond to norm;
 – The car should be established on an equal horizontal surface;
 – The car should be empty, with the fuel tank filled half;
 – Before check of corners of installation of wheels, shake a car body;
 – The steering should be regularly and is correctly adjusted;
 – In draughts of a steering should be absent люфт;
 – In a suspension bracket of wheels should be absent люфт.
